Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked DutchZZ Leiden (17-19) was edged by third ranked Belgian Kangoeroes (26-10) in Mechelen 70-68 on Wednesday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. American guard Trenton Gibson (193-2000, college: Indiana St.) notched 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and the other American import forward Aundre Hyatt (198-2000, college: Rutgers) supported him with 13 points and 5 rebounds. Even 14 points and 4 assists by American guard Aaron Cook (188-1997, college: Georgia) did not help to save the game for ZZ Leiden . Power forward Jeroen van der List (213-1989, college: Indian Hills, agency: BIG) added 11 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Four ZZ Leiden players scored in double figures. Mechelen keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Oostende and Kortrijk. ZZ Leiden lost sixth consecutive game. Defending Dutch champion keeps the twelfth place with 19 games lost.
